Police investigate shooting in Dunwoody

DUNWOODY, Ga. -

Investigators are trying to piece together the cause of a shooting that send one person to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Dunwoody Police Department tells FOX 5 News that the shooting happened at the Terraces at Dunwoody located in the 4300 block of Dunwoody Park around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Emergency crews arrived to find a man shot to the abdomen in a fourth floor apartment after someone inside called 911. He was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center.

Police say the shooter fled the scene. The incident was initially reported to police as a possible home invasion however investigators found no sign of forced entry.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

Anyone with further information should call the Dunwoody Police Department.
