ATLANTA -

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for portions of northwest Georgia, metro Atlanta as well as most of central and southern Georgia through Monday morning.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City extended the watch through 8 a.m. Monday as heavy rains continued to fall in those portions of the state.

Sunday saw one to two inches of rain in portions of the state with pockets of rain that reach up to four inches.

An upper low pressure system mixed with the recent temperature changes prompted a Tornado Warning Sunday evening just before 8 p.m. for portions of Heard County and all of Carroll County. FOX 5 Live VIPIR Radar did track the storm as it moved eastward and an echo believed to be a small debris cloud was spotted, but there have been no reports of sightings, touchdowns or damage in the area. The warning was allowed to expire at 8:30 p.m.

The rains are expected to stick around through at least Monday.
