Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

Shocking new video shot by passengers on a Detroit City bus show the driver and an unruly rider going toe-to-toe.

Watch the video above for more.

A witness tells us it all started when the woman's transfer card got stuck inside the scanner. She became agitated and started to yell and spit at the driver.

First, the driver had her down on the floor. Then, both women got up and continues their verbal spat for several minutes. One man tried to stop it, but eventually stepped out of harm's way.

Other passengers actually egged them on! Soon, punches were thrown.

The driver can be seen hitting the woman in the head, using her keys as a weapon, while the passenger yanks on the driver's hair.

Eventually, the driver pins her down again and bystanders break them up. The unruly passenger was forced off the bus.

Witnesses tell us they did call 911, and police arrived quickly, but the fight was already broken up.

Passengers were moved to a different bus.

As of 5pm Wednesday, DDOT has not gotten back to us for comment.
