NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A suspect has been charged in the stabbing death of a woman after her vehicle was rammed by a livery cab on Pelham Parkway in the Bronx.

Police charged Dionis Espinal, 31, with murder, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal contempt in the death of Katherine German, 20.

Police said the two had a prior relationship.

It happened around 4 a.m. Wednesday on the Shore Road/Pelham Parkway entrance ramp to the New England Thruway.

The collision's impact caused the woman's Honda Pilot to overturn after it hit a concrete barrier.

Then Espinal walked over to the SUV and repeatedly stabbed German, who was a passenger, with a knife, police said. She died at the scene.

Cops found a knife at the scene.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
