League settles with former players on concussions

PHOENIX -

The NFL has reached a settlement deal with thousands of former players and their families involving concussion-related lawsuits.

The deal is reportedly worth $765 million. But some believe that number isn't enough, and that the league actually benefited from this deal.

The reaction from today's NFL settlement has been met with disappointment in some circles, including former NFL player Scott Peters, who believes better healthcare and follow-up is needed for retired NFL players that are battling concussion-related symptoms.

The healthcare costs are astronomical when it comes to Alzheimer's and ALS, and the general response among neurologists and players is one of disappointment when it comes to today's news.

FOX 10's Jude LaCava shares his commentary on the subject.
