Tri-state, I-57 interchange construction project kicks off

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The governor kicked off a construction project that should save thousands of people time and money.

Workers are starting to build connector ramps from I-57 to the tri-state—a project estimated to cost $185 million.

76,000 cars should be flowing through the streets every day once it's completed.

Currently, a lot of drivers use I-80 to get from the tri-state to I-57. The state estimates those drivers will save 25 hours per year using the new interchange.
