Minnesota @ Detroit
Cordarrelle Patterson WR- Back- Questionable
Jerome Felton RB- Suspension- Out
From a fantasy value, we begin and end with Adrian Peterson. The top overall selection in 99.999999 drafts will not let his owners down. All day should top 150 yards and will score a pair of touchdowns against the Lions defense.
Quarterback Christian Ponder (a break glass only in emergency situations…and then think twice about it) will throw one score to his favorite target, Kyle Rudolph. New receiver Greg Jennings will struggle to touch 75 yards and won't find the end zone.
Kicker Blair Walsh won't duplicate his rookie season, but he's worth a start and should put up 11-12 points.
The defense is not a good start this week.
Adrian Peterson – A
Blair Walsh- B+
Kyle Rudolph- B
Greg Jennings- C
Christian Ponder- Bench
Matthew Stafford is Charch's second ranked QB this week and for good reason. He's going up against a secondary that lost Antoine Winfield and has two unproven guys in rookie Xavier Rhodes and Josh Robinson in his second season. He'll torch those guys for over 300 yards and 2-3 touchdowns.
Calvin Johnson owners felt every one of the five times he was tackled at the one-yard line last season. He won't be held out of the zone in this game. He'll go well over 100 yards and score.
Reggie Bush makes his debut in Detroit and won't disappoint. He'll go for 140 combo yards and a score.
I like Brandon Pettigrew to be his normal blah self, but he will find the endzone.
David Akers takes over for Jason Hanson who after 62 years finally retired. Hanson was my first kicker when I started playing fantasy football in 1981. Look for Akers to hit the 6-9 point range.
The defense is also a decent start and should be in Ponder's face the entire day.
