Cardinals vs. Rams preview

Posted: Updated:

Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams

Forecast: Indoors

Injury Report:

Arizona Cardinals:

Rashard Mendenhall RB- Knee- Probable

Andre Roberts WR- Quad- Probable

St. Louis Rams:

Cory Harkey TE- Knee Out

Arizona Cardinals Offense:

Most Carson Palmer owners drafted him as a bye week backup, but should look at matchups on a week to week basis. This is one of those weeks he is viable. Palmer should near 300 yards through the air and a pair of scores are a reality.

Rashard Mendenhall has been planted as the starter in the backfield and should come close to 100 combo yards in the season opener.

After a couple of seasons of missery, Larry Fitzgerald should bounce back to fantasy relevance. He'll near 100 yards and will connect with his new quarterback for a score. Michael Floyd should also get off to a good start finishing with 75-100 yards and a score.

There are worse defenses this week than the Cardinals.

St. Louis Rams:

We've talked about Sam Bradford and his need to step up in order to be a steady fantasy producer. He will get off to a decent start with 275 yards and a pair of scores.

Daryl Richardson should near 100 combo yards in his first start.

I pumped Chris Givens all offseason and he won't disappoint. He'll out gain rookie Tavon Austin and will pluck his touchdown as well. Jared Cook should roll in with around 70 yards and a score as well.

Like the Cardinals, the St. Louis defense is worth a look in week one.
