Injury Roundup:

The news for Shane Vereen (wrist) owners continues to get worse as the do-everything back was placed on injured reserve/designated-to-return according to the Patriots official web site. Vereen will have surgery on his broken wrist.

With the designation, Vereen can't return to the Patriots until week 11 making him droppable in most leagues.

Danny Amendola (groin) sat out of practice on Tuesday leaving his status for Thursday night doubtful. According to the Boston Herald, Amendola's status beyond Thursday is uncertain.

Dez Bryant had an MRI on his foot that showed a mild foot sprain according to Ed Werder of ESPN. Although he is expected to play, it isn't known how effective he will be.

Blaine Gabbert has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Oakland. Gabbert lacerated his throwing hand that required 15 stitches in the opener.

Rob Gronkowski is unlikely to play Thursday night against the Jets.


Brandon Jacobs re-signed with the Giants clouding the New York backfield.
