Homicide detectives were still on the scene in the pre-dawn hours, awaiting a search warrant to enter the home, located in the 800 block, and continue their investigation, FOX 5's Carolyn Ryan reports.

Police responded to call about the shooting around 2:30 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived at the scene, the found a man – about 30 years old – had been shot and was dead.

The homeowner, identified as Victoria Rickman, had apparently pulled the trigger, police said. She was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.
