'Aids Walk Detroit' this weekend in Royal Oak

In Michigan, 15,000 people are currently living with HIV and/or AIDS.

Participate in the Aids Walk Detroit to join in the fight against this disease.

The walk is Sunday, Sept. 15. Registration opens at 8 a.m. The event begin at 9 a.m. with the Names Project Memorial Quilt, the opening ceremony and awards and the walk immediately following.

The Names Project Memorial Quilt is made up of 48,000 panels but is broken up to make its away across the country.

Before the event the quilt is displayed at Beaumont Hospital.
