Fantasy Sports Geekly: Looking ahead to Week 3

(WJBK) -- I think the first place you look in week 3 is the upcoming Lions vs. Redskins tilt. Simply put, opposing offenses are making it look way too easy against a team that struggled against the past lass season as it was.

This year, its been a disaster thus far. It was clear to everybody that the Eagles called off the dogs early in Week 1, and Aaron Rodgers and the Pack decided they would not be so kind as Rodgers rolled up 480 yards and 4 scores. I expect the Lions to be able to exploit the Skins as well in Week 3.

Matthew Stafford has averaged just over 315 yards a game so far, and I would expect that number to grow. Go right ahead and give Calvin Johnson a strong showing, and it will be interesting to see how many other wideouts are utilized. Keep an eye on Ryan Broyles as its assumed the Lions will ease him in at first, and that usually is a sign of caution for a fantasy player. Joique Bell is a better weapon as a piece, not the main course, so Reggie Bush status should help both the Lions, and Bell.

What is wrong with Tom Brady and the Pats offense? Circumstances, simply put. Do you see the players that he has had to work with in the first two weeks? How about that torrential downpour last Thursday night as well? Relax, he will be fine, and getting Rob Gronkowski back [possibly!] will be a big lift. While I expect better numbers against Tampa this week, I would not expect a monster outing as the Bucs pass D did a pretty good job last week on Drew Brees and the Saints, "only" limiting him to 322 yards and a score.

Keep an eye on: Miami, surprising start, and Ryan Tannehill should have to throw all day long at home against the Falcons.

Keep away from: The Steelers. WOW, that offense looks awful.
