Planet Lori to help fund ovarian cancer research

Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) -

Lori Haber Buckfire lost her battle with ovarian cancer three years ago. She was diagnosed eight weeks after giving birth to her only son Heyden.

She was a very talented artist and writer, and her family is keeping her memory alive by publishing a book of her artwork, and starting up art classes for children who have a parent with cancer.

There will be a fundraiser at the Jewish Community Center on Saturday, Sept. 21 for a charity that has been set up called "Planet Lori Art Camp," which will raise money to fund these classes and donate money toward ovarian cancer research.
