PHOENIX -

A car crash caused a light pole to fall and kill a 25-year-old man on Thursday.

Police say two cars collided near 15th Avenue and McDowell, causing one of the cars to spin into a light pole.

The light pole then came crashing down and hit a 25-year-old man.

Officers are still trying to work out what happened during the crash, but they believe the man was walking and didn't see the accident occur.

Two of the people in the cars were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and two others stayed at the scene.

The pedestrian's name hasn't been released.
