Gina's People

'The Graffiti Buster'

Posted: Updated:
Mission Hills, CA -

(FOX 11) This week in "Gina's People" we want to introduce you to FOX 11 viewer Joe Lozano of the San Fernando Valley.

Every day, 78 year old Joe Lozano hits the streets with one goal in mind.... to cover up all the nasty graffiti in his Mission Hills neighborhood.  "It's my passion because I don't like people messing other peoples property," says Joe Lozano.

Lozano has been covering graffiti for 35 years. Nothing stops him, not even threats from taggers. "I was threatened once. Four in the morning got a call. They didn't like me and they were going to come to get me. "

It's a thankless job but the way Lozano sees it, it's a selfish deed.

He says, "I do it for a very selfish reason, because I don't like it. It's my own personal vendetta on graffiti." No wonder, Lozano is known as "The Graffiti Buster".

If you know anyone making a difference in his or her community, email Gina @gina.silva@foxtv.com.

Every Monday during the early morning news and GDLA Gina will be featuring a FOX 11 viewer who deserves a some recognition.
