PHOENIX -

A 16-year-old Alberta, Canada boy who threatened to kill Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his family could be facing charges in Canada.

In July of 2013, Arpaio's office received this email: "Joe Arpaio, you are a massive d------- and I hate you so much you d--- sucking s---face. I'm going to murder you and your whole family including your wife, children and grandchildren. I'm also going to bomb your house and afterwards burn down the remains. May your death be horrible."

After a 2-month investigation, Arpaio's office identified the author as a teenage suspect, who's name is not being released because he is a minor.

He was questioned by Canadian authorities and admitted to making the threat.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police told MCSO last week they were considering charging the boy.

If they do so, Sheriff Arpaio has agreed to travel to Canada to testify, if requested.
