Watchdog agency gets problems solved for unhappy bank customers

Posted: Updated:

Got a beef with your bank and you can't get it resolved?

There's now a new federal financial watchdog agency that can help.

It's called the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and it's getting results.

In fact, a recent survey shows that a third of those filing complaints get some sort of financial relief.

The CFPB takes it a step further posting complaints online so other consumers can see how the banks compare to each other.

Right now, most of the complaints deal with checking account problems.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau accepts complaints about a wide variety of financial service providers and products: mortgages, credit cards, student loans, auto loans, money transfer services, credit reports and debt collection.
