Family Speaks After Killer's Brother Is Released In Autumn Pasquale Murder

Posted: Updated:
CLAYTON, N.J. -

Anita Saunders walked out of her home with her lawyer just hours after her son was released from jail Tuesday night and made just one comment to the family of 12 yr old Autumn Pasquale.

"I'd like to extyend my condolences. Their daughter will always be in my prayers and so will they," Saunders told reporters gathered on her front lawn Wednesday.

Saunders' attorney did all the talking about 18 yr old Dante Robinson's release from jail. Just last month, his brother, 16 yr. old  Justin, plead guilty to aggravated manslaughter in Autumn's strangulation death here. Her body was later discovered in a recycling bin. Her BMX bike was found inside. Both brothers were arrested, but now Dante is free.

"I just ask that this family be allowed to resume their life as best they can," said attorney Stanley King. He would not comment on any plea bargain that may have been reached in the case. He insisted the Dante had nothing to do with the murder.

"He was totally unaware of the incident and did not have any involvement at all," King told reporters.

"They should get what they deserve," said one local resident.

Dante's release infuriated some here. Autumn's father has moved and was not avail.able for comment. Others voiced some strong opinions.

"He shouldn't be out here running on the streets at all," said Dan Boyizigies of Clayton.

"Apparently he didn't have anything to do with it, so that's that," said Robinson's neighbor Nate Ingram.

"He could have came forward, came forward early on," another neighbor added.

"If he was so innocent he would have come forward. Yo, look what happened here. I didn't have nothing to do with it," said Bill Boyizigies.

Police were stationed at Robinson's home over night. Surveillance cameras have been installed at the front and rear of the home. There is some concern about what could happen here next.

"This family has received numerous death threats," King told reporters. "Their home has been vandalized, their cars have been vandalized."

Fox 29 also reached out to Autumn's mother, she was not available for comment. There was no comment from the attorney for Autumn's father, Anthony.

Justin Robinson will serve 17 years in prison for Autumn's murder. .

Mrs. Saunders refused to answer any other questions.

Authorities refused to say what lead to Dante Robinson's release since the matter was handled in juvenile court. There was also a gag order on this case.
