Paula Patton: You Work To Keep It Alive

"A great guy loves you with all your baggage," said Paula, star of the new movie "Baggage Claim," whose husband Robin Thicke has the year's biggest hit song, "Blurred Lines."

"I am so blessed. I think hard times in life really make you appreciate the love and the good times. I've gone through some hard times, so I appreciate my great blessings every single day," Paula said.  "He loves me so much and the feeling is mutual. The best is when you love someone deeply and those feelings are equally returned. Also, Robin is really there for me. When times are good or bad or sad or happy or boring, just having somebody by your side to help you through means everything. I know I can count on him standing right next to me always."

About the movie, "Baggage Claim," Paula said, "I read the script when I was making "Just Wright" with Queen Latifah. I laughed out loud. I brought in my husband and my best friend. We sat around my living room and read the entire script out loud. Robin is great about doing that with me. I always wanted to do a romantic comedy. And this is a great romantic comedy about a woman seeking love."

Paula joins Steve Edwards and guest-host Heather Dubrow on Good Day L.A.

  • She is an American actress who is known for her appearances in the films Idlewild (2006), Déjà Vu (2006), Mirrors (2008), Swing Vote (2008), Precious (2009), Just Wright (2010), Jumping the Broom (2011), and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011).
  • She graduated from Hamilton High School, and then started college at UC Berkeley, transferring to USC Film School after her first year and graduating magna cum laude. Shortly after completing her studies, she won a three-month assignment making documentaries for PBS. Later she worked for the Discovery Health Channel as producer for the show Medical Diaries.
  • Her first acting role was a small part in 2005's Hitch, which starred Will Smith and Eva Mendes.
  • Patton's big break came in 2006 when she landed the pivotal role of Claire Kuchever in the science fiction thriller Déjà Vu, starring Denzel Washington and Jim Caviezel.
