You've heard of the freshmen fifteen, but a new study says that first time college students are gaining nearly double that.
Researchers at Slimming World surveyed 1,055 current students. They found more than a quarter of freshmen are putting on up to twenty eight pounds.
And by the time they reach senior year, nearly two-thirds of students put on up to seventy pounds.
Students blame stress, drinking, lack of cooking skills and unhealthy eating for the weight gain.
The study says that six in 10 students report having takeaway or fast food between three and five times each week, and only a third ate fruit or veggies once a week. Also more than half of students report drinking alcohol at least three times a week, and three per cent booze every night of the week in college!

Pressure to fit in
Didn't see weight or health as a priority when a student
