Couple Seeks Help Finding Wedding Ring

Posted: Updated:

Fox 29 is working to get results for a Montgomery County couple desperate to find a missing engagement ring! The ring is insured and it can be replaced, but it's the story behind its purchase that will break your heart.

This one's a one-in-a-million shot, finding a ring that could be almost anywhere lost or stolen.

FOX 29's Bruce Gordon thinks it's worth a shot.

Sue Keslar says the third finger on her left hand feels naked with only her wedding band around it.

"I just feel really horrible. Especially for my husband," Keslar said.

Brian Keslar and his father Bruce patched up a rocky relationship and worked together to select the design that a Center City jeweler used to make Sue's engagement ring back in 2006.

"When they got it, I mean, my husband hid it in a cereal box or something, like he was so" Kessler said. "I mean, it's one of the last memories my husband has of his father, you know."

That's because Brian's father did not survive this happiest of days.

"He passed on our wedding night- actually on the way home from the reception," Kessler said.

Fast forward to a month ago, the Keslars' brought the ring to Littman Jewelers at the Montgomery Mall, for repairs. Days later, they received a phone call.

Sue said, "The call was from the insurance company, and they just said, bad news, your ring is lost, basically."

Bruce went to Littman's looking for answers. The store manager told me the ring was lost when their jeweler shipped it and that a full investigation is underway. In the meantime, Sue's girlfriend has created a Facebook page titled, Find Sue's Ring, with pictures and other information designed to help track down the missing jewelry.

Few good pictures exist, so Sue drew the ring for us, the unique characteristic; two yellow gold hearts form a bed for a one carat oval diamond.

"Everyone's telling me it's impossible, but if I can get that ring back, I want to do everything I can," Kessler said.

The Littman's store manager says they will try to get digital images taken by their jeweler into Sue's hands so she can post them on her Facebook page.

By the way, the inside of the band is inscribed "S-K PLUS B-K, 5-17-08" that's their wedding date.

Help us share this story. Who knows? If this story spreads, maybe we can find that diamond needle in a haystack.
