Joe Morton: We Stayed In Character Most Of The Time

Posted: Updated:

Joe Morton knew. But none of the other actors did. Not even Kerry Washington knew that second season of "Scandal" would end last May with the revelation that Morton's character, the mysterious Rowan, is actually Olivia Pope's father.

"I knew from the moment I was hired."Joe says. "I, and maybe a couple of the producers, were the ones who kind of knew where we were going and what was happening."

The hardest part of keeping his on-screen identity hidden was hiding the truth from his co-stars – especially Kerry, who had no idea that she would soon be revealed as Rowan's daughter.
