PONTIAC, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department is trying to catch a man they say almost abducted two young girls. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black man with shoulder length braids. He was wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. He reportedly smelled from cigarettes.

Police say the suspect tried to force the 6 and 8 year old girls into his silver, four-door sedan Friday night. He grabbed one girl and got her into the car then grabbed the second girl but the children managed to escape and run home.

Anyone with information should contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Department or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
