DA has test results in deadly Hudson River crash

Posted: Updated:

NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) -- Prosecutors have received drug-and-alcohol blood test results on the New York man piloting a motorboat that crashed into a barge, killing a bride-to-be and her best man.

The Rockland County district attorney's office says the test results won't be made public until after they're presented to a grand jury.

The pilot, Jojo John of Nyack, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the July 26 deaths of Lindsey Stewart and Mark Lennon.

Stewart would have been married two weeks later; Lennon was to be the best man. They were thrown into the Hudson River when the boat hit a construction barge.

Investigators have said they suspect that John, 35, was intoxicated. A call to his lawyer was not immediately returned.

Stewart's family has blamed poor lighting on the barge.
