DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities found a missing 18-month-old girl behind an abandoned home early Wednesday, but police still have lots of questions about how she wound up alone.

An extensive search was conducted around Orbit Circle in Ellenwood after Tiona Jenkins was reported missing around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.  Police went door to door and searched a wooded area.

Finally, four hours after being reported missing, the child was found by detectives at a vacant home about three houses from where she lived. She was said to be okay.

Police said the little girl was with her mother, grandmother and great aunt when she went missing.  Investigators believe someone put her behind the home after learning she was missing.  They says she was not crying or upset, despite the fact that she was found alone in the dark behind the home.

The child is in the custody of the Department of Children and Families until they can determine what happened.  The child's mother, 24-year-old Tearah White, told FOX 5's Portia Bruner the family was questioned about her disappearance, and that she hasn't seen Tiona since she was found.  She says she's not sure when she will get to see her child.
