Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords made her first visit to a gun show since she was shot.

Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly joined New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman touring a gun show in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The couple co-founded 'Americans for Responsible Solutions', a national campaign for expanded background checks for gun sales. They spoke out against gun violence Sunday also highlighting a voluntary agreement with the attorney general, to monitor gun show sales and stricter state gun control law.

“It's great for Gabby and I to see a system that works, that works well.” Kelly said. “You know this is a complicated problem, gun violence and the death rate that we have from guns in this country is fifteen to twenty times higher than any other country we would ever be expected to be compared to. So it's a problem and there are a lot of things we can do to reduce the death rate from guns.”

One of the key things Kelly mentioned is that the country needs to try and keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the dangerously mentally ill.

Giffords says stopping gun violence takes courage. “The courage to do what's right, the courage for new ideas. I've seen more courage when my life was on the line.” She said. “Now is the time to come together, be responsible. Democrats, Republicans, everyone. We must never stop fighting. Fight, fight, fight. Be bold, be courageous, the nation is counting on you. Thank you."

The former Congresswoman survived an assassination attempt back in 2011 in her Arizona district when a crazed gunman shot her in the head.  Six people died in that shooting.

Roadkill is part of the menu when it's feeding time at a zoo in western New York. The Seneca Park Zoo has been feeding deer carcasses to its carnivores for years. The practice began after a zoo employee hit a deer on the way to work. The zoo gets the deer after they've been hit by vehicles on Rochester-area roadways. But it won't accept deer that have been dead for more than 10 hours. The zoo also accepts deer killed by bow hunters.

Burger chain Five Guys is testing the adage that everything tastes better with bacon. It is rolling out a customizable milkshake program and along with bananas, peanut butter, Oreo cookies, salted caramel, you can chose bacon.  Yes that's right: a bacon milkshake.
