The Phoenix City Council has decided to move forward on a plan to make a big change at Sky Harbor Airport.
The council voted yes to a $500 million plan to remodel Terminal 3 at the airport, and to eventually close Terminal 2.
Terminal 2, of course, is the airport's oldest terminal. It opened in 1962. Terminal 3 opened in 1979.
The plan would increase capacity at Terminal 3, and phase out Terminal 2 which is outdated and expensive to keep in service.
