Home of Novi mayoral candidate vandalized

Posted: Updated:
NOVI, Mich. (WJBK) -

Novi will elect a mayor Tuesday. One candidate says his house was vandalized over the weekend. Joseph Samona tells Fox 2 his house was egged Saturday night. He also says at least two dozen of his campaign signs were stolen in the last week. Lawn ornaments outside of his home were also destroyed. Samona is challenging current mayor Bob Gatt who is seeking a second term.

"Obviously I'm going to be upset but I'm a Christian, I'm a Catholic, I forgive," Samona told Fox 2. "I'd just like to know who does this. Whoever did it, there are repercussions for your crime. I'm not going to retaliate and take other people's signs down. That would make me no better than them."

Samona is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
