Michigan State Police Continue Aggressive Recruiting Campaign

TAYLOR -- The Michigan State Police (MSP) is looking for qualified candidates who wish to Provide Service with a Purpose to the citizens of the State of Michigan as a Michigan State Trooper. The MSP is presently recruiting for the 126th and 127th Trooper Recruit Schools to commence January and June of 2014. In addition, the MSP hopes to continue recruit schools for the next several years.

The Michigan State Police has partnered with Wayne County Community College District to host a series of State Police recruiting seminars.  These events will be held on November 9th and also November 23rd at the WCCCD Downtown campus, 1001 West Fort Street, Detroit. The event will be held in the multi-purpose room.  The event will begin promptly at 10:00 AM.

The MSP will also hold a recruiting seminar on November 16th beginning at 10:00 AM in the City of Southfield. The event will be at the Southfield Library, 26300 Evergreen Rd, Southfield. The event will be held in the Auditorium.

The events will acquaint prospective troopers with the career opportunities available with the Michigan State Police and help start them in the application process. Applicants are requested to wear business casual attire. The minimum requirements for becoming a State Trooper are: A Michigan resident at the time of appointment to the academy; at least 21 years of age at the completion of the recruit school; possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.; no felony convictions and be of good moral character.
