Chicago's Most Wanted: Gerard Liles

Posted: Updated:

This was a federal investigation that went after a number of alleged drug dealers working on the west and south sides of Chicago.

The FBI is looking for help locating Gerard Liles.

Liles is 30 years old. He was charged on October 25, 2013 in a criminal complaint, originally filed under seal, with one count of selling cocaine to a confidential source who was working with law enforcement.

This was an investigation that actually began in 2010 which uncovered a pattern of alleged criminal activity that goes beyond the charge itself. The criminal complaint describes three drug transactions in which Liles, who is also known as "Keppis," is accused of selling various quantities of crack and powder cocaine to the confidential source in June and July of 2010. Those "buys" were recorded on both video and audio as part of the investigation.

Liles' last known address here is Chicago was 2950 West Harrison. He is now the subject of a nationwide manhunt coordinated by the FBI, after avoiding arrest during a round up on November 1st. His strongest connections are here in the Chicago area, particularly on the West side, so there's a good chance he may still be in the area hiding out with some of his associates. He also has ties to Woodstock and Carbondale.

The FBI's efforts to locate him to this point have been unsuccessful, so that's why agents are asking for the public's help in tracking him down.

Here is the FBI's best description of Gerard Liles:

--black male

--30 years old

--about 200 pounds

--black hair, brown eyes

--tattoo on left arm of praying hands and the words "RIP Tara"

Liles is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, or know where he might be, you are asked to contact the FBI or local police.
