Taylor Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Chelsea Small, an employee at the Advanced America Cash Advance on Telegraph Road. The incident happened shortly after 12 p.m. on Tuesday, police say, when they received a hold-up alarm from the business.

When officers arrived they found Small who had been fatally shot. Police believe it was a possible robbery that went wrong.

The incident has prompted customers and employees to voice concerns of safety issues, since employees at the Taylor business did not operate behind safety glass. Customers had to be buzzed into the business.

Meanwhile Advance America has issued a statement saying:

"In 17 years of operation Advance America has never encountered such a tragedy."
