Break In 2008 Beau Zabel Murder

PHILADELPHIA -

A South Philadelphia murder case that gained national attention in 2008 is back in the spotlight this morning. Police are expected to make an arrest in the shooting death of Beau Zabel.

It's a story that gripped the nation: a young Minnesota man, shot for his iPod in Philadelphia. He had just moved to Philly to be a teacher, a few months before the murder.

Now, years after his death, his cold-hearted killer may be brought to justice. The man who police will charge is already serving a life sentence in jail.

And according to Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, the most frustrating fact about this case is that the suspect had a previous felony record and was released on parole when the shooting and robbery happened.

"Far too many get out that are still in the business of hurting others," Chief Ramsey said.

The suspect's name is Marcellus Jones, and he's currently serving a life sentence for killing Tyrek Taylor, his getaway driver in the Zabel killer case, according to authorities.
