Survey Reveals Changing Expectations For Marriage Proposals

Posted: Updated:

When it comes to the perfect engagement, gone are the days when many women will just settle for a nice dinner and a man on bended knee, at least according to one study.

According to a study by the British jewelry store, Beaverbrooks Jewellers, women's demands for marriage proposal are more specific than ever.

One in 10 women say that they want their man to serenade them, seven percent want a poem recited and one in 20 even want a flash mob.

When it comes to the ring itself, women say it should cost at least $1,600. And timing? According to the study, women want approximately three years and four months into a relationship for the proposal to happen.

And if the proposal isn't perfect, a quarter of women say they would tell their boyfriend, "no way".

The study surveyed 2,000 women.
