CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A young family made a miraculous discovery in the wreckage left behind by the deadly tornado that struck Washington, Illinois.

Lindsey Grove lost her engagement ring - and everything else - when that storm hit. She had placed it in a box in her dresser for safe keeping Sunday morning, before she knew the storms were coming.

Her aunt told The Huffington Post that Lindsey and her husband Andrew were at church with their 16-month-old son when the tornado tore through their town.

When they were finally able to return to their neighborhood, the young family searched through the rubble to collect salvageable belongings to start again. Andrew uncovered his wife's ring during that search.

Lindsey didn't know that he found it at first. When she turned around to see what he picked up, Andrew was down on bended knee.

Thankfully, the couple was eventually able to find their son's baby book, wedding photos and more. Here's to starting anew!
