DETROIT (AP) -- A man charged with wounding the mayor of the Detroit enclave of Highland Park has made an initial court appearance.

Jair Harris was arraigned Wednesday in Detroit District Court.

The 25-year-old Eastpointe resident is charged with felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon and careless discharge of a firearm causing injury.

His bond was set at $250,000. The Wayne County prosecutor's office says it doesn't know if Harris has a lawyer yet.

DeAndre Windom was shot in the leg at Key Club near downtown Detroit shortly before 2 a.m. on Nov. 17. The 47-year-old mayor was treated at a hospital. Police have said a dispute unrelated to Windom escalated into the shooting.

No other injuries were reported.

Harris' preliminary examination is scheduled for Dec. 9.
