Surveillance pictures released of serial bank robber

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

For the second time in three days a bank robber has struck the City of Roseville. Early Friday afternoon, a man robbed the Comerica Bank branch at Groesbeck Highway and 12 Mile Road at gun point. Police say that man is Daniel Stacy Galeener. He is believed to have also robbed the Fifth Third Bank branch at Gratiot Ave. and Maryland Streets early yesterday afternoon.

In both robberies, police say Galeener entered the bank and handed a note to the bank teller stating he had a gun and demanded money.  In both instances the suspect produced a blue steal revolver and pointed it at the bank teller to ensure compliance with his demands. The tellers complied with the suspect's demand for money and he fled from the bank with relatively small amounts of currency.

After yesterday's robbery an anti-theft dye pack included with the stolen money exploded contaminating the cash so the suspect left the bag containing the stolen money in the bank parking lot. It is believed that after being thwarted in obtaining cash in the Roseville robbery and being forced to leave the cash behind, he preceded to Clinton Twp. where he robbed another bank.

Galeener is currently suspected in at least one other bank robbery locally and is being looked at as a possible suspect in several other out state robberies. Galeener should be considered armed and dangerous and if seen should not be approached. Anyone with information as to Galeener's current whereabouts please contact your local police or the Roseville Police Department at 586-447-4483.
