Meadow Brook Hall presents the 42nd annual Holiday Walk

Posted: Updated:
ROCHESTER, Mich. (WJBK) -

This year's Holiday Walk will highlight the stories of the Dodge-Wilson family's many adventures, from gondola rides in Venice to watching the sunrise over Mt. Everest, personal postcards and letters from their journeys and keepsakes the family collected throughout the many trips.

New this year, children of all ages can journey back to a simpler time in the newly opened Danny's Cabin, featuring vintage toy trains, airplanes and automobiles. Dolls and delights will fill the enchanting Knole Cottage.

Also on display in Danny's Cabin will be a 1927 Dodge Brothers Coupe on loan from car collector Daniel Kerr of Pennsylvania. Visitors will get a sneak peak of things to come as The Hall prepares for the Dodge Brothers Centennial celebration in 2014.

Meadow Brook Hall's 2013 Holiday Walk includes several special events:
·    Free visit with Santa at Danny's Cabin, December 7 and December 14
·    Breakfast with Santa, December 8 and 15
·    Supper with Santa, December 8
·    Holiday Tea, December 10 and 17

The event runs now through December 23. Tour hours are Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last admittance at 4 p.m.), and special evening hours begin Monday, December 16, visit www.meadowbrookhall.org for evening dates and times.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children 17 and under (accompanied by an adult); children age 2 and under are free. All tours are self-guided and reservations are not required.

The cost for both the breakfast and the supper events is $30 for adults and $25 for children. Cost to attend the tea is $50 per person. Reservations are required for all Holiday Walk special events, excluding the free visit with Santa.
