Police: Barricade Situation In Home Has Ended

Posted: Updated:

We are following breaking news in Juniata Park. Police have just arrested a man at the scene of a barricade situation on the 500 block of East Courtland Street. The man turned himself into police peacefully after 40 minutes of negotiation with police, said Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan.

The man barricaded himself inside the home just before 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, says police.

Police say that the man fired shots at them after police came to his home to investigate a reported disturbance. Police then called SWAT to the location. There was also a female in the house, but she's in good health, says police.

So far, police don't have a motive. They tell FOX 29 that they will execute a search warrant later on the house.
