$5K reward offered for arrest of Heidelberg arsonist

(WJBK) -

5:15 a.m. Thanksgiving a fire ripped through a structure known as The War Room on Heidelberg Street. A security car saw a man running from the area 15 minutes before the fire was reported.

The investigation with the ATF and the Detroit Fire Department has moved quickly; it went from a suspicious fire to arson, and now a $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

The Heidelberg Project saw six fires in 2013, the fires all being within just a few months of each other.

Prior to The War Room fire, the Penny House and The House of Soul burned.

One area resident tells Fox 2's Ron Savage he sees visitors from all over the world coming to see the art installation. He says last summer he met a man visiting from Australia to see the project.
