Man Wounded In El Monte Police Officer Involved Shooting

(FOX 11 / CNS) A man was wounded this morning in an officer-involved shooting in El Monte. It happened in the 35-hundred block of Cogswell Road shortly before 4 this morning.

The 34-year-old man was taken to a hospital. His condition has not been reported, nor do we know what prompted the shooting.

No officers were injured. LA County sheriff's detectives are assisting El Monte police in the
investigation into the shooting.

LA Sheriff are assisting El Monte police in an officer involved shooting.  It happened at around 4 o'clock friday morning on the 3500 block of Cogswell Road.  Police say a 34 year old male suspect was shot and taken to a local hospital.  No officers were injured.  One witness who lives on the next block says he saw a man yelling and cursing in the middle of the street in the early morning hours, then "later I heard three gun shots."

Anyone with more information on the shooting is urged to contact authorities.
