Pothole problems in Chelsea

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Those holes in the street caused by a host of things from constant vehicular traffic to salt to melt snow and ice are all over a stretch of 11th Ave. in Manhattan.

Dozens of complaints about the potholes in the Chelsea area have been pouring into the city's information line, 311.

The area causing car damage and lots of noise from car bottoms hitting the asphalt is the stretch between West 26th and West 28th Streets.

The road is riddled with potholes that cost drivers time and money.

According to the NY Times, the problematic potholes along 11th Ave. began appearing two years ago when a pipe leaked below the street.

New York City is the sixth worst city in the nation for potholes, reports the NY Post.
