American Lung Association's Fight for Air Climb

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

Can you imagine going to the top floor of Michigan's tallest building... with no elevator?  The American Lung Association wants you to take the stairs at the Detroit Renaissance Center on Sunday March 2, for the Fight for Air Climb.

Join FOX2's Ron Savage for the American Lung Association's 8th Annual Fight for Air Climb. It's a competitive stair climb that challenges participants to climb  70 floors (1,085 stairs)  or 40 floors (585 stairs) of Detroit's tallest building. The  goal is to raise funds to help support the American Lung Association's fight against lung diseases like asthma and lung cancer.

Lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States. Individuals and teams will climb to help fund lung health research, education and advocacy.

FOX 2's Ron Savage is the Honorary Firefighter Competition Chair/Emcee. When Ron's not on FOX 2 he is a Firefighter/EMT with Brighton Area Fire Dept.
