Reward offered for stolen Coweta County dogs

Posted: Updated:
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. -

A Coweta County couple is desperate to get their stolen dogs back for Christmas. They're offering a large reward for their safe return.

Jim Wingo said that he and his wife are losing sleep over their stolen dogs Layla, a black poodle, and Lulu, a white poodle.

The Fairburn couple believes that someone saw their dogs while they were eating at a restaurant on Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross on Saturday night and thought that the poodles would fetch a high price. The thief pried into their truck and stole the dogs. Nothing else was taken from the vehicle. Wingo said that the dogs' value is mostly sentimental.

The Wingos have hired  private detective and are now offering a $1,500 reward to get the dogs home for Christmas.

"These dogs are just like our children, and if your child had been kidnapped, I think you would do exactly the same thing," Wingo said. "You would do whatever is necessary to get them back. And I hope that the people that took these dogs have it in their heart, Christmas spirit, to return our children to us."
