NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Ten people are hospitalized after a New Jersey Transit bus and a cab collided sending both into a building in Newark.

NJ Transit spokesman William Smith says it happened around 12:45 a.m. Thursday.

Smith says the bus was headed for Newark's Penn Station when it was struck by the cab on Market Street near Washington Street.

Smith says the impact carried both vehicles about 90 feet across a median and into the storefront.

A portion of the building came down on the bus and the taxi.

The bus driver and eight passengers, along with the cab driver, were taken to a local hospital.

The bus driver suffered a minor concussion. The others sustained minor injuries, reported the Associated Press.

There were no reports of pedestrians injured and the building appeared to be vacant at the time of the crash

The accident is under investigation.
