Dr. Oz gives prosthetic leg to Sian Green, injured British tourist

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Sian Green is an extremely resilient young woman. Looking at her, I found it hard to believe she barely survived a horrific accident while visiting New York in August when a runaway cab hit the 24-year-old severing her left leg.

Now thanks to Dr. Mehmet Oz, Sian has a prosthetic leg. "The Dr. Oz Show" chronicled for he surprised her with the prosthesis while visiting her at her home in England in November.

Sian visited "The Dr. Oz Show" this month New York, and we had the opportunity to speak with her.

She said that the prosthesis helped give her her independence back. But she's still getting used to it. She said she has to make sure my weight is evenly distributed. Sian's desires are just like most 24-year-old women: to wear high heels and dance.

Well, the high heels may have to wait. But she got her first dance -- with Dr. Oz.

Correction: Green's accident happened in August, not in July as reported in the video.

Things are looking up for cute little Cami King. Not only is her cancer in remission, she also just got to meet Mickey, Minnie and Elmo in Times Square. But, if you can believe it, there's something else this 4-year-old is even more excited about: Times Square is going gold. The chairman of the Times Square Advertising Coalition announced the crossroads of the world is going to light up in gold to raise awareness for pediatric cancer research.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
