Plenty of stories got people talking in 2013. This special edition of Let It Rip takes a look at some of the hot topics that made the rounds.
Among the big ones, the Kwame Kilpatrick trial; crime in Detroit; the city's descent into emergency management; Chapter Nine bankruptcy; and the Detroit mayoral election.

In 2013 crime continued to be a major issue of concern for Detroit residents. That concern was shared by some of the Fox 2 reporters who covered the stories every day: Taryn Asher, Alexis Wiley and Andrea Isom. Another story that grabbed attention was of a man beaten and stabbed inside a Detroit gas station in plain view of other customers - who just stood by and watched. Other topics include: Wayne County Judge Wade McCree's involvement in a sex scandal that ultimately booted him from the bench; fast food workers demanding a pay raise; Boy Scouts deciding to allow gays but not in leadership roles; free speech turning into hate speech; and the new study showing 60 percent of high school seniors believe nothing is wrong with smoking marijuana.

Sometimes our Let It Rip guests can get pretty loud. Huel Perkins tries his best to get everybody to calm down and most of the time it works, but sometimes it takes a little extra effort to reign things in. Also, Charlie Langton takes Let It Rip on the road one last time in 2013.
