Eagles Fans Excited For NFC East Showdown In Dallas

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The fact that Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo isn't playing on Sunday is just one thing that has Eagles fans excited.

But the fact that it's a win-or-go-home game is another!

That' the scenario the Birds face on Sunday in Dallas. A win and they are division champs! A loss and they miss the playoffs.

We knew it would be a long shot for Romo to play Sunday. He tried an epidural on his back Monday, but once that didn't work, the Cowboys announced the inevitable Friday – that their quarterback had undergone season-ending back surgery and is sidelined in Sunday's big game.

Romo herniated a disc in his back last week against Washington. That didn't stop him from helping Dallas come from behind for the win, but now it will keep him off the field for the next few months.

Backup QB Kyle Orton will take his place.

FOX 29's Thalia Perez reported live Friday afternoon from a pep rally at Chickie's & Pete's in South Philadelphia, where fans were reacting to the news and hoping for a win!
