Kings Plaza Brawl: many not following new security procedures

Posted: Updated:

Caught on cell phone video, hundreds of out of control teens fought with each other.

The brawl went down on Thursday night at the Kings Plaza mall in Brooklyn.

And it appears a new request at Kings Plaza shopping center in Brooklyn is not being honored by everyone.

The mall has asked people under 18 to be accompanied by an adult.

Since the brawl happened, there is now more security at the mall and the police are out patrolling the area.

The night of the fight, mall security urged minors, anyone under 18, to come to the mall accompanied by an adult.

However a 12 year old told us he had no issues getting in today.

Mall employees say about 400 teens gathered at the mall around 5 pm Thursday.

Suddenly they started grabbing items and brawling with each other.

Teens told Fox 5 there were messages on Facebook before the fight urging kids to throw the mall into chaos.

Fortunately no one was seriously hurt.

But many say the security policy there needs to change.

We called the mall for comment but security politely hung up on us.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
