Off-duty cop shot at on South Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Shots were fired at an off-duty Chicago police officer on the South Side Sunday morning.

The officer was shot at about 7 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Loomis Boulevard, said police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic, citing preliminary information.

The officer did not return fire and was not hit by a bullet, but their vehicle was shot twice, Sedevic said.

No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
