Dog Rescued at Sea

TAMPA, Fla. -

Her name is "Baby." it says so right on her rhinestone collar and little pink bone tag. And she's been through quite an ordeal

Basile says: "On the horizon they could see just her nose sticking out of the water."

A fisherman spotted her off-shore and rescued her. Then he pulled into the Saint Pete docks Thursday morning where Anthony Basile was paying his dock fee.

Basile says: "I put towels on her. Warm towels on her; put the heat on in the boat. She shook for ten hours straight."

Basile knew the little dog needed help. She was cold and terrified.

Basile says: "I would just pet her and feed her by hand, and give her water. It took all night."

But now she trusts him, and won't let him out of her sight. A scan revealed a microchip, but the number doesn't work. But Basile can't help but get a little emotional.

Basile says: It's sad...the dog's lost."

So, for now. He'll keep her... Hoping to find baby's real mom and dad.

Basile says: "Somebody out there's looking for her."

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
